Day 7 -Let Faithfulness Be a Way

“Know therefore that the Lord your God, He is God, the faithful God, who keeps His covenant and His faithfulness to a thousand generations for those who love Him and keep His commandments.”
​Deuteronomy 7: 9

Meditate or Reflect
Faithfulness is an unswerving devotion to one’s word, promise, or vow; it is certainty, it is a firm conviction. In relationship to a known and invisible God, faithfulness is one’s surrender to God and conduct that is inspired by such surrender. God is always faithful in His promises to us. There is so much beauty in the verse from Deuteronomy beginning with “knowing.” Know that God is God and He is your Lord.  Faith on our part begins with the deep knowing that God is Lord over all, and He is faithful to His followers.  And these verses also show us what faith in God looks like for our daily living: “Love God and keep His commandments.”  Our acts of faith to God are to love Him and to be obedient to Him. Reflect on the faithfulness of God. Take a breath, and focus on the deep knowing in your soul that the Lord your God is God. Consider the ways He has been faithful to you.
 
Heart, Mind, and Soul
Tune into how you experience faithfulness in your heart. Does faithfulness make your heart feel safe and secure? Does faithfulness feel like the most loyal and abiding friend you could ever have? How would you like for faithfulness to feel in your heart? Let faithfulness in your heart be a way of life today. Take a moment to make room for faithfulness in your heart today.
 
Turn to your thoughts.  Have you practiced surrendering your thoughts to God as an act of faithfulness to Him? Surrendering thoughts to God might look a lot like Philippians 4: 8, “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”  What would faithfulness in your thoughts be like?  Let faithfulness in your mind be a way of life today. Take a moment to make room for faithfulness in your thoughts today.
 
Bring your focus to your soul. How is faithfulness abiding in your soul in this moment? Take a breath and abide with God’s presence, receiving the faithfulness he extends to you today.
 
God, Self, and Others – Set your intention for today, or make a plan for cultivating faithfulness
Will you abide in God’s faithfulness toward you today? 
Will you practice faithfulness to God by surrendering to Him heart, mind, body, and soul? 
How will you extend faithfulness toward others today? Start with one person.
