Day 3 - Let Peace Be a Way

2/23/2023

“The Lord lift up His face to you, and give you peace.”
Numbers 6: 26
Meditate or Reflect
Shalom is the Hebrew word for peace that means being at ease, unharmed, harmony, and wholeness. Peace is a state of being that lacks nothing and has no fear of being troubled. Yet, we also know there is no perfect peace apart from God. Today’s verse comes from the Aaronic blessing in Numbers – the word’s God gave to Moses to bless Aaron. It is truly a blessing of peace that “God lift up His face to you” (God sees you in this very moment), and “gives you peace.” Take a breath, and in this moment acknowledge where your peace comes from for this day.

Heart, Mind, and Soul
Tune in to how you experience peace in your heart.  How does peace feel in your heart? Does it feel at ease? Does it feel complete? Let peace in your heart be a way of life today. Take a moment to let this peace in your heart today.

Turn to your thoughts. What are you troubled with today? Let this verse be present on your mind today: “The Lord lift His face to you, and give you peace.” Perhaps, make the verse even more personal by putting your name in place of “you.” For instance, “The Lord lift His face to Amy, and give Amy peace.” Now, try it with your name. Let peace in your mind be a way of life today. Take a moment to let this peace in your mind today.

Bring your focus to your soul. How is peace abiding in your soul in this moment. Take a breath, and wait in silence and solitude for a moment to receive the blessing of peace in your soul.

God, Self, and Others – Set your intention for today, or make a plan for cultivating shalom
Will you say “yes” to the blessing of shalom from God today? Having no fear of being troubled?
Will you seek God’s face today? Abiding with His loving and peaceful gaze.
How will you be a person of shalom with others today? Speaking and being a person of shalom.
