Fruitful Soul: Living by the Fruit of the Spirit

I believe there is so much healing power in the pages of Scripture, and, after you have been saved by Jesus, the free gift for living well is recorded in Galatians 5: 22-23: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” (NASB). Living by the fruit of the Spirit is life changing food for the soul.

The purpose of this soul care blog is to use faith-based and Cognitive Behavioral techniques to help redirect one’s heart, mind, body, and soul in a devoted relationship with the Lord through the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit, and cultivating the fruit of the Spirit so it may flow to your relationships and for personal growth. This is not intended as a substitute for therapy. These blog posts are a tool for use as a Christian spiritual practice. You may choose to work on a single post per day, every other day, or even once a week.

Cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit - Part 1

From whom have you experienced each of the Fruit of the Spirit?  Make a list of each of the Fruit of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control). For each of the fruit of the spirit, consider how the experience affected your well-being? Recall how being loved, receiving patience, experiencing faithfulness, etc.. made you feel in your mind, heart, and soul (begin reflecting by taking a deep breath and scan your mind, heart, and soul). Write the names of anyone you associate with positive experiences of the Fruit of the Spirit, and any words of love, joy, peace, etc... you recall.
